Music Festival Tips to Follow

Are you going to a music festival this weekend?

You are going to want to be prepared when you get there. I have been to music all around the world and have put together the most important tips to follow when attending music festivals.

Bring what you need and extra to share

Music festivals are a great place to practice self- sufficiency and community. Don’t rely on the event to have everything you need, but I guarantee you will meet friends who came unprepared.

Pro Tip: If you are bringing a companion animal, let them carry some gear with a Sirius Survival Dog Vest.

Bring Plenty of Sunscreen

You don’t want to get burnt out before the main act comes on stage. Be sure to apply sunscreen before you leave in the morning and reapply regularly. Make sure it is waterproof and high SPF.

Pro tip: Make it an all-natural fragrance-free sunscreen.

Hydrate!

The number one reason festival-goers end up in the medical tent is dehydration. Plenty of water will keep you going all day.

Pro Tip: Bring a reusable water bottle and put some stickers so you know which water is yours. There will be places to fill up throughout the festival.

Eat Well

You want to have energy to last all night? A heavy meal will slow you down, so skip the greasy fries and try to eat healthy food. Pack a snack. A handful of almonds and dried fruit will save me from getting a headache. Everyone has their go-to snack. Bring yours.

Pro Tip: If you plan on drinking alcohol, be sure to eat a solid meal before your first drink.

Use the Map and Schedule

Don’t just toss aside the program they hand you when you walk in. Take a minute to look it over and plan things out. There is often more than one stage and you may have to choose between two bands.

Pro Tip: Check the distances and give yourself plenty of time to get around. Crowds, vendors and side-shows will make it hard to hurry from stage to stage.

The Path Is Your Stage

Half of the fun of a music festival is people watching. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to express yourself and become part of the entertainment.

Pro Tip: Lightweight, easy to carry costume items like crazy sunglasses, a feather boa, a personal mister, fairy wings, l.e.d. lights.
